Summer Student General Labour
Job Summary
The General Labourer is responsible for the housekeeping of Plant 1, Plant 2 (as required). This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health & safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.
Summer Student positions available.
Education and Experience
• Experience working in a factory environment in a similar role will be considered an asset • Familiar with safe use and handling of cleaning equipment and supplies Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Capable of problem-solving • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks • Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner • Capable of operating heavy equipment such as a forklift and crane
Job Requirements and Responsibilities
• Emptying garbage containers throughout the facility • Cleaning around machinery ex. sweeping up metal chips, etc. • Sustaining cleanliness of washrooms • Maintaining stock of supplies and replenishing supplies in washrooms, offices, conference rooms, lunch rooms, etc. • Sweeping, mopping, washing and vacuuming floors as required including spill clean-up, etc. • Washing windows, walls and ceilings as required • Running errands upon request of appropriate personnel as required • Sustaining outdoor maintenance such as snow removal, etc. as required • Positively contribute to a healthy corporate culture by building trust, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement • Other duties as assigned
Must be 16+ year old and have reliable transportation or valid driver's license
