Job Summary:
The CMM Operator is responsible for creating and inspecting programs that measure objects’ physical characteristics, such as dimensions and other geometrical qualities. This position works closely with the Manufacturing Management team, TBM Unit Managers, and ensures efficient operations with adequate resources to fulfill customer and plant requirements. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health & safety policies, and IATF & ISO quality program and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school and or a four-year apprenticeship or college diploma in a manufacturing field or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a quality control role (Creaform, Romer Arm, Optical Scanning) in a Manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, mold shop.
- Knowledge of the world coordinate system in local, car position.
- Understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, CMM Management Software, CAD Software, etc.
- The ability to communicate, read, and understand information and ideas presented both verbally and in writing.
- Capable of recognizing and solving problems.
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner.
- Capable of operating heavy equipment such as a forklift and crane.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Inspect for dimensional accuracy, process, and quality operations to assure conformance to customer, engineering, and quality requirements via verifying parts and dimensional integrity.
- Provide engineering with input on inspection by using advanced inspection tools (Optical Scanning, Verniers, Micrometers, Machine Touch probe reports)
- Inspecting and importing models such as IGES, CATIA, UG, CSV, etc.
- Perform source or receiving inspection per customer work order, specification, and/or drawing requirements.
- Perform in-process and final inspection per Work Order Instruction (WOI) and established procedures.
- Verify part and or tool dimensions on machinery using digital readouts and indicators, or using CNC touch probe systems reports.
- Perform trigonometric and geometric math calculations to obtain profile, form angularity, and dimensional inspection data.
- Verify that machining and assembly operations are meeting specified requirements.
- Perform and maintain internal calibrations and manage company-owned tooling outsourced for calibration per schedule.
- Support the Quality Management System (IATF 16949/ISO 9001) as deemed necessary by management.
- Run, program, and troubleshoot optical scanning as appropriate for in-process and final inspections via optical scanning Management Software.
- Follows Standard Operating Sheet (SOS) and Standard Work Instructions (SWI)
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve designs, installation, and TBM process.
- Understand customer standards and ensure compliance throughout build and assembly.
- Ensure to follow budget to actual hours per job and communicate any concerns.

**Wage Range: $20-$26/hr
