Job Summary:
The Paint Technician is responsible for manual painting, troubleshooting, cleaning painting equipment and
improving the paint application processes to meet production standards. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health & safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.

Education and Experience:
- Completion of secondary school, GED or equivalent - required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive painter - required
- Experience with paint line systems and programming of paint robots – required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven Knowledge of painting and finishing techniques for automotive parts
- Working Knowledge of robot programming for automated paint process
- Ability to follow safety policies
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting paint line defects
- Develop and maintain paint line maintenance program
- Knowledge in cleaning and creating a schedule for robots and paint line components
- Experience with different finishes and OEM requirements including 1K, 2K, clear, base, prime etc.
- Understanding of paint kitchen mixing
- Experience in Hand Spraying automotive finishes
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner
- Willingness to offer any type of support when necessary.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities
- Perform manual painting in paint booth to meet production target
- Clean spray gun, paint line equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary
- Assist Quality Team with quality inspection requirements and part testing reporting activities
- Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives on production metrics
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures of the paint process
- Paint line duties such as filling paint in tank, solvents, spray gun cleaning, change the filter etc.
- Loading and unloading of painted parts
- Positively contribute to a healthy corporate culture by building trust, teamwork, respect, and continuous Improvement
- Other duties as assigned
Working conditions
- Must be able to paint parts in a manual paint booth
- Must be able to wear a respirator as required
- Must be able to stand and or sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms and/or legs
- Must be able to lift heavy material (ex. up to 50 lbs.)
- Exposure to noise
- Must adhere to all safety procedures for work environment
- Occasional overtime and travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned
