Job Summary:
The Injection Molding Processor is responsible for setting up all tools in preparation for upcoming production runs and validations in an efficient and timely manner. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, employee handbook guidelines, health and safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school and a four-year apprenticeship OR college diploma in a manufacturing field or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years experience as a Process Technician in a similar role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, ERP, etc.
- Experience with machine and mold set-up, processing maintenance, troubleshooting, and processing documentation.
- In-depth knowledge of all injection molding processes, machine controls, and functions.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, and their applications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the capability of recognizing and solving problems.
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner.
- Capable of operating heavy equipment such as a forklift and crane (installing molds of up to 100,000lbs.).
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Install and remove molds, including the installation of water lines, mold heaters, and additional support equipment.
- Purge press and set up to established parameters. Cycle in and complete first piece in preparation for tryouts.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain quality products.
- Perform inspection of products for defects using specified inspection methods.
- Ensure parts meet quality standards set by customers and Omega Tool Corp. and complete validation tests and studies required by customers.
- Clean molds and change over internal mold components when needed.
- Ensure employees use company timekeeping programs to accurately record hours worked each day and by job number per company policy.
- Assist with training needs of Production & Validation Setup Technicians and Associates.
- Collaborate with Program Managers to address any customer concerns.
- Escalate any equipment needs to the Operations Manager and implement changes and improvements.
- Troubleshoot problems with auxiliary equipment and repair as needed to maintain production.
- Ability to develop and improve molding process and run samples as required.
- Oversee and assist in completing the Validation report at tryout (VQA).
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate records related to machine parameters, process changes, and production data (Usage report, Process checks, Workstation readiness, Job Book).
- Assist with set-up and back-up duties as required by the Operations Manager.
- Perform shipping and receiving, material handling and general labour tasks as required.
- Keep work area clean and organized following 5S principles.
- Participate in continuous improvement tasks and projects as required.
- Oversee Production & Validation Department personnel in Operations Manager’s absence.
- Positively contribute to a healthy corporate culture by building trust, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
