Job Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services from external vendors. This role involves identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring quality and timely delivery of outsourced products/services, and managing vendor relationships. The coordinator will also be involved in cost-saving initiatives and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, employee handbook guidelines, health and safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.
Job Details:
- Full-time, day shift, Monday-Friday (8:00 A.M.- 5:00P.M.)

- Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Visual, CAD/CAM Viewer, etc.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry and their applications
- Capable of forecasting and solving problems
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Tracking delivery of purchased goods consumed in the manufacturing process
- Issuing purchase orders
- Responsible for Purchasing requirements of the 9001 ISO quality system, including, but not limited to, new supplier evaluations, annual supplier relations and presentation and resolution of Corrective and Preventative Action Reports issued to suppliers
- Coordinate with scheduling and machining manager preventive and emergency maintenance on all machinery
- Completes feasibility studies and availability of materials for the Estimating and Sales staff
- Manage and coordinate building repair issues with Plant Manager
- Travel to suppliers is required, usually within normal office hours
- Required to attend scheduled and ad-hoc meeting located in the manufacturing areas of the facility
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Must be able to stand and or sit for extended periods of time
- Occasional overtime and travel may be required
- Exposure to noise
