Job Summary:
The Designer is responsible for the accurate function, fit and on time delivery meeting the customer standards as well as the internal manufacturing requirements. Direct interaction with the customer is required along with communication with other internal departments throughout the organization. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health & safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.

Qualifications: 

  • Community college diploma in Automotive Product Design or Professional & Trades
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Designer in a similar field. 
     
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Proficient in using various computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with assembly-based software is preferred such as NX, Catia, etc. 
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, and their applications. 
  • Capable of recognizing and solving problems. 
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. 
  • Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner. 
     
Job Requirements and Responsibilities: 
  • Troubleshoot customer part data for possible molding issues and make recommendations for changes to achieve positive results. 
  • Initialize designs from feasibility and continue through concept, preliminary, and intermediate/final levels in conjunction with the surface modeler. 
  • Adhere to both internal and customer mold standards and procedures. 
  • Populate BOM through software to engage purchasing activities. 
  • Attend and present mold designs in all internal and customer meetings. 
  • Interact with manifold suppliers for manifold designs and approvals. 
  • Positively contribute to a health corporate culture by building trust, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
